This #MeetTheStaffMonday we are meeting Linda who assists in the Roman Circus Visitor Centre.

“My career started in the West End of London, working in fashion; this was when Carnaby St ruled 👗

Because of my love of style and creativity, I moved to Paris. I prepared for this by doing a Teacher Training Course with International House. Teaching gave me two great years in France, and a further six in Spain (Madrid and Cordoba) 🌅

Returning to England I settled in my home city of London, where I worked in local government. I also taught in the evening, notably in HMP Wormwood Scrubs.

When my son left home, I thought it would be fun to live in Devon. There I obtained my degree with OU; Humanities and Classical Studies. I worked as a guide for Lord Clifford, also for the Dean and Chapter of Exeter Cathedral, HMP Exeter, and Exeter Museum
I found Devon somewhat remote, so three years ago came to Colchester 👀

I started volunteering at the Roman Circus Centre, and now work assisting the centre manager, and giving tours.🎉
I am a Colchester Tour Guide, and guide within the city, as well as in Colchester Castle.

I enjoy all my work, and am especially happy giving tours at the Roman Circus, attempting to bring the Romans to life for our visitors.”
