Happy #FindsFriday everyone

Last week we found something really awesome on site!

This is a hand axe, likely from the lower Palaeolithic period. It could be around half a million years old or even older

This Prehistoric stone tool would have been shaped by hitting it with another stone (knapping). It was likely made and used by early hominid species, probably as a cutting tool

A better understanding of the siteβs local geology will help us to pin down the details on
this item, but for now, we are just really excited about this find

What do you think?
