#FindsFriday Elderberry seed

For #FindsFriday this week we’ve been playing around with our shiny new microscope, and we thought we’d make up a game for our social media! Can you figure out what’s being shown in the picture before the big reveal?👀

This is an elderberry (Sambucus nigra)seed found from a soil sample from one of our recent sites. Seeds like this as well as other plant remains in soil samples can help us build a really detailed picture of what environments were like in the past – by telling us about the local flora and fauna available to people in the past including what kind of food they ate!🍇
