WORK EXPERIENCE

“Taking part in work experience at CAT has got to have been one of the most life-changing experiences I’ve ever put myself forward to. Being able to have a first hand experience in the process of preserving artefacts/bones is truly something I’ll never forget.

The highlight of this experience was being able to help clean a human skull and bones!! Whilst it caught me and my friends off guard at first, it was truly amazing to take a close-up look at what we ourselves look like.

However, my second favourite thing was definitely the archiving project!! This is because I was able to see some really cool things in the box we were marking , including a cat skull that we named fluffy. After finding marking finds difficult at the start, I definitely now find it rather therapeutic

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy every second of it!

Overall I absolutely loved the experience I had here, meeting so many new lovely people and trying out so many new things! It’s definitely something that I would consider for the future! “
