WORK EXPERIENCE

“Wow what a week. I have had such an amazing time on work experience at CAT over the last week. From sorting through finds, like some sort of extreme puzzle, and weighing find boxes and organising find reports, to marking individual finds (which I really enjoyed as a repetitive task, despite it taking us nearly 2 whole days to get through 3 boxes) and washing finds too. Not to mention going to visit a current excavation site!

I loved every minute of seeing the behind the scenes work that goes on at CAT. As someone who is studying forensic anthropology, it’s great to be assured that bio archaeology & osteology is the route I want to go down. It was brilliant to get some hands on experience, and I can’t wait to come back and visit.”

“Thank you so much for such an excellent week of fun and interesting tasks! Coming into work experience I had never done any archaeology before but it has taught me so much, from how sites are dug using really cool technology, to how the finds themselves are processed and labelled. As someone wanting to study anthropology and archaeology at University this has really confirmed that my decision is the right one, Thanks CAT, I will be back!“
