The Trust is delighted to announce today (11th December) that our flash fund-raising – to raise £5,000 in one week – has reached its target! We asked if you would donate money, using BT mydonate via this web-site, to help us to raise the £5,000 by lunchtime today so that we can send off an application for a grant of £50,000 from the Cory Environmental Trust – also today! If our application is successful, then we plan to use the grant to enhance the site of the Roman circus and also improve the displays in the circus centre, for our visitors.
Read in full about our plans to enhance the site of the circus on this web-site at www.thecolchesterarchaeologist.co.uk/?p=23226 . The plans include a life-size sculpture of a Roman racing-chariot with four horses and charioteer on the site of the circus, in front of the circus centre.
You responded very generously and speedily, and some last-minute emails and ‘phone calls this morning took us to the £5,000 target…
Thank you! – we are extremely grateful to everyone who has so kindly donated to our flash fund-raising. Watch this space!
