new book launch at Roman Circus House: ‘The Essex scrubber – keeping it clean’

Tomorrow (6th September), the Rotary Club of Colchester Centurion is holding an official book launch here at Roman Circus House. The book launch is for The Essex Scrubber – keeping it clean, by Christine Beedle of Lexden. You are cordially invited to attend!

‘… The Essex Scrubber is the nickname she aquired for reasons that will become obvious as you read what is more a novel than a normal autobiography.

The story is not just about Christine’s journey from cleaner to businesswoman. It is also about those invisible “angels” who clean our offices after we have gone home but who sadly get called a multitude of less complimentary names, sometimes deservedly! …’

Beverley Kettell of the Rotary Club of Colchester Centurion is organising the book launch and chose to hold it here at Roman Circus House because of the Roman connection – the Roman circus site and centre here and the Colchester Rotary Centurions. The Trust is delighted to host the book launch here.

The book launch is from 6.00pm to 7.30pm, at Roman Circus House. Admission is free. Copies of the book will be available to buy, and 50% of the proceeds from the first 1,000 copies sold will be given local Rotary charities. Christine will be here to chat to visitors and sign copies of the book, and there will be wine and nibbles. Visitors will also be able to look at the Roman circus site and displays. If you would like to attend, then please RSVP to info@theessexscrubber.co.uk or to (01206) 520603 – but late attendees are most welcome!
