This #MeetTheStaffMonday we are meeting Pip!
“Hi, my name is Pip. I have been a Post-Excavation Project Officer for 16 years now, and have spent 10 of those at CAT.
For me, this role mainly involves writing heritage statements and impact assessments, desk-based assessments and more recently historic building recordings – all the stuff that is often required before excavations can get underway! This means that aside from sometimes stomping around a proposed site, I don’t spend much time in the field, but do spend a lot of time at records offices and libraries๐
Though I don’t do it much anymore, my specialism is Zooarchaeology (the study of animal bones)๐๐๐, particularly at prehistoric sites in Britain. One of the best things I’ve done with CAT was to excavate a fully intact bowl of food that was found in a Roman inhumation burial – it was a pork knee joint and rack of ribs!๐ฎ
Outside of work I live with my husband on a farm and have three kids and two dogs, so am kept quite busy! I enjoy walking, board games, DnD and reading๐๐๐๐.”
