This #MeetTheStaffMonday we are saying hello to George!

“Hello everyone, my name is George, and I am a Field Archaeologist here at Colchester Archaeological Trust!☀️
Having graduated from the University of Liverpool with a BA in French and Classics I joined CAT for a summer in 2021.

Despite having no experience in field archaeology, CAT rolled the dice with me and I like/hope to think it’s worked out pretty well for both parties! Trained by Harvey at Little Waltham, I quickly learnt so much before disappearing off to UCL to complete my MA in Classics🤓

I then re-joined CAT in July 2022 working whilst writing my dissertation. With the MA finished I am now a full-time member of CAT and loving every day of it. I have been fascinated both by urban and rural archaeology, fortunate enough to experience both with this fantastic company🏢🌲

Outside of archaeology you can either find me playing hockey for Felixstowe HC or supporting my beloved Ipswich Town. If you ever want to find me on site, it won’t be hard as, despite it being late November, I am always wearing shorts!🕶”
