#FindsFriday – Bucket Urn

Today for #FindsFriday we’ve got this lovely Middle Bronze Age bucket urn found during works at a site near to Colchester in 2021.

The top of the rim is decorated with impressed finger-tips, while the upper vessel wall is decorated with vertical rows of impressed finger-tips between vertical lines and the lower body is also decorated with horizontal rows of impressed finger-tips. This style of decoration is typical of the Middle Bronze Age ‘Deverel-Rimbury’ culture which dates to c.1600-1100 BC
