The Trust would like to inform all our circus centre visitors and tea room customers that the Roman circus centre and site, and the circus tea room, will be closing for the winter at 4.00 pm on Saturday 1st October 2016. They will re-open at 11.00 am on Monday 10th April 2017.
Many thanks to all our visitors and customers for all your support and interest – and for your generous donations. We enjoyed your visits and we hope that you did, too. We look forward to seeing you in April!
During the winter, we will be undertaking renovation works on the outside of the building and also installing some new displays inside, ready for the summer season… The Roman circus centre will not lie empty during the winter – it will be used by the Colchester Archaeological Group for their programme of weekly lectures (see the calendar on this web-site, and further details to follow), and it will continue to host the on-going restoration of the modern Roman circus mosaic.
