The Friends of the Colchester Archaeological Trust (FCAT) will be holding their annual main event on Saturday 7th February. The day consists of the FCAT AGM in the morning, followed by a lecture session in the afternoon.
The AGM will start at 10.30am here at Roman Circus House. Members of FCAT are invited to attend the AGM and join in the discussion of FCAT and their programme of events.
The lecture session starts at 2.00pm, at Lion Walk United Reformed Church in Lion Walk, in Colchester town centre. Trust archaeologists will present a set of short illustrated lectures on our work during the past year, including our excavations at the Williams & Griffin store in the High Street and our discoveries there – but not the ‘Fenwick treasure’ or the burnt human bones dating to the Boudican revolt, as we will be discussing these in a future lecture. The lectures will be followed by tea, biscuits and conversation.
The AGM is open to all members of FCAT. The lecture session is open to FCAT members and non-members – all welcome. For more information, ‘phone the Trust at 07436273304.
We look forward to seeing you in the afternoon!
