Archaeological monitoring and recording at land adjacent to Grove Lodge, Highfield Drive, Colchester, CO3 3QA: November 2024-July 2025

Archaeological monitoring and recording was carried out at land adjacent to Grove Lodge, Highfield
Drive, Colchester, Essex during groundworks for the construction of a new dwelling. The site lies
immediately adjacent to and partially located within the scheduled monument of Late Iron Age/early
Roman Sheepen (National Heritage List for England 1002173). Despite being in an area of high
archaeological potential, no archaeological remains were impacted by the monitored groundworks.
