Archaeological evaluation by trial-trenching at Mill Cottage, Goldhanger Road, Heybridge, Maldon, Essex, CM9 4XQ: February 2026

An archaeological evaluation (two trial-trenches) was carried out at Mill Cottage, Goldhanger Road,
Heybridge, Essex in advance of the construction of a new dwelling. Despite being in an area
highlighted as having archaeological potential, the evaluation did not reveal any archaeological
remains uncovering only drainage infrastructure associated with the now demolished cottage.
