Join master mosaicist, Lawrence Payne, at Roman Circus House for a one-day Roman Mosaic Workshop: “The Centre Tesserae System.”

“Use the Centre Tesserae System to decipher any strand pattern, repeating the process to ‘read’ any mosaic design. You do not need any experience in geometry or technical drawing. You’ll learn one system that can be applied to any pattern, from simple to complex.

This Roman Mosaic Workshop is hands-on, aimed at building your confidence to break down and reconstruct patterns for mosaics.” – Lawrence

Who is Lawrence Payne?

“Since beginning this journey in 2002, I’ve been continuously exploring how ancient mosaicists worked. Through studying and replicating their mosaics, I’ve gained a deeper understanding of their methods.

Now, I’m offering you the chance to experience this work first-hand.

Making small mosaics follows the same methods as creating full floors, applying the same approach.”

Tickets for this event are available from Roman Mosaic Workshops at this link: TICKETS

The Roman Mosaic Workshop runs from 10 am to 4:30 pm and is suitable for all skill levels, requiring no prior experience in geometry or technical drawing.
